I meant to comment on this story earlier as I really enjoyed it - nice take on the "sacrifice" theme, but from a slightly different perspective. And the way the story ends makes me wonder if the story has really ended! There could be a rescue in the works and we have to know what happened to the ship in the first place, right? lol Could be the first chapter in a space novel.
