Hello! A nice book, written for younger readers, up to about 8th grade. Despite some plot holes (Where are all the bad guys when good guys are tramping around in the bad guys fortress?), the story moves along well. Children can especially connect with the heroine. Every child would want a small dragon to befriend! Best regards.

I read this book after I discovered the following Mrs. Paul has among teens and pre-teens. Yes, the teens enjoy her books, too. Guess what? Some of us older folks who are still kids at heart enjoy her books just as much. A retired teacher who still has the heart and soul of a teacher, Donita has a really great website for interaction with her fans. At Shoutlife.com (the Christian version of Myspace), she is always quick to respond to mail (even from us grown people) and to drop in on her fan club group. The kingdom in her Dragonkeepers fantasy series is led by precepts that are quite Biblical. Great characters, creative cultures and history, even cuisine. Then of course there are the dragons. So many different types of dragons, almost like breeds of dogs or cats. But the dragons can communicate with people. _________________ Cathi H.
